Proudly announcing FMR 21

“Art? I care only about what is happening online.
Only in the Internet you can find ‘Art’, the rest is just spectácle.”

(Guy Debord, 1994)

After a successful first edition of FMR in 2019, we proudly announce FMR 21 – Art in Digital Contexts and Public Spaces, taking place 1-6 June 2021 in the area surrounding the Mühlkreisbahnhof, a small secondary railway station in Linz-Urfahr.

The festival, whose title alludes the ephemerality and short-livedness, presents works whose initial ideas can be found in virtual and/or digital space or have a strong reference to it, but are shown (sometimes in a transformed way) in the physical surroundings of the city of Linz.

The program of FMR 21 will consist of an exhibition in public and open space with works by international and local artists who deal with art in digital contexts, as well as artist talks, a symposium, a concert night, guided tours and, if the situation permits it, a closing party.
